Since 2013 our websites have all been structured to be mobile-friendly, and to display well on screen sizes from large desktop monitors through laptops and tablets to mobile phones.
For some years now, mobile usability has been a factor in Google’s search algorithm. Sites that are optimized suitably for use on mobile devices rank higher than their non-optimized counterparts, even for searches made on desktop devices. In February 2015 Google announced that from April 2015 they will be expanding the use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. They further stated that "[this] will have a significant impact in our search results". See the statement here.
